Diamond Engagement Rings |
For a woman, it’s not that difficult to say “Yes” to a wedding proposal. The life-changing step both the man and the woman will be taking is challenging though. When it comes to this matter, another challenging part is in buying diamond engagement rings. Men and women have different types of engagement rings. They also differ when it comes to buying one.
Last April, a famous celebrity announced that she got engaged third time with a diamond engagement ring approximately worth $100,000 given by his fiancé. Carmen Electra, now engaged to Rob Patterson, is one of the blessed ladies who got to have a diamond black solitaire ring with 1.5-2-carat. A lot of women would want to be like Electra. A lot of wannabe brides dream to receive such an engagement ring when their partners-to-be would kneel down and ask for their hands. If you are a guy and you’re pressured with this fact, do not think that buying that solitaire ring is impossible.
You can still envision a joyful engagement with a ring that would please her. For the groom, here are tips for you to be a step closer to buying that ring:
1. Have a set budget for the ring. |
They say an engagement ring must be worth your two months’ wage. So as early as possible, plan out your budget specifically for this gift.
The advantage of setting out a budget is that you’ll be able to determine just how much you can afford. From the range of amount you can spend for the ring, you can start going around looking for that tiny yet expensive thing.
2. Go around and shop. |
Find time to really visit several jewelry stores and look for matching sets. The tendency of men when looking for a ring is that they directly go to popular jewelry stores which should not always be the case. Your choice of ring may be found in a store that is less popular. You may want a three stone ring somewhere. The only thing you have to check is whether the jewelry store is accredited. This is because authorized jewelry stores follow the guidelines of the International Gemological Institute (IGI), the group that advises on the clarity of diamonds.

3. Be acquainted with the 4C’s when buying a wedding ring. |
These are the elementary reminders in looking for that thing: carat, cut, clarity and color. The kind of carat you can have will be determined with the amount you are willing to spend.
Women have different styles. Even with rings, women tend to be choosy as well. So find out first what cut you think will she like. There are round rings which add a classy touch. Other cuts include oval, emerald and pear.
In the jewelry store, ask where their magnifying glass or loupe is. You can use either of these equipments to check the ring’s clarity. Slightly Included 1 (SI 1) is fine. But if you can afford one that is “Internally Flawless (IF)” then better.
Ask around which color would best fit your partner. Usually, most women like colorless or white.
4. Bring someone with you when buying. |
Men usually ask one of the lady friends of their partner to help them in shopping for the ring. This is so far the best way to do it. However, there are couples who choose to buy the ring together. The good thing about this practice is that couples can start practicing having to decide together. The disadvantage of buying this way though is that you lose the element of surprise.
Always remember that an engagement ring is very valuable to a woman. Realize that you’re asking the person to decide to share her life with you forever. It’s like buying her heart. Of course we all know that the ‘payment’ is your sincere and true love but the representation of it is the ring.
Men are always told to not be thrift when it comes to this stuff. You will only have to buy this once for every woman you decide to marry. When you find yourself getting separated and have another wife-to-be, then another set of expenses is expected, of course.
A diamond on their finger, it’s what women desire. You’re not too far from satisfying that desire.
